The Brahma Temple in Pushkar is one of the most significant Hindu temples in India and one of only a handful of temples in the world dedicated to Brahma, the creator in the Hindu trinity. The current structure dates to the 14th century, though the site itself is believed to be far older. The temple is built in a simple North Indian style with a distinctive red spire and a hans (swan) symbol at the top. Pilgrims who visit Pushkar Lake consider a visit to this temple an essential part of the pilgrimage. The inner sanctum has a four-faced image of Brahma along with his consort Gayatri.
