Ana Sagar is an artificial lake constructed by Anaji, the grandfather of Prithviraj Chauhan, in the 12th century. The Daulat Bagh gardens on its eastern bank, laid out by Emperor Jahangir, add a Mughal touch to the setting. Shah Jahan later added a row of marble pavilions called the Baradari along the waterfront. The lake is at its most pleasant in the early morning and evening when locals come to walk and sit by the water. Boating facilities are available for visitors.
