Ravana Phadi is Aihole's important rock-cut cave temple, cut into a sandstone outcrop a short walk from the main enclosure. Inside, large reliefs of dancing Shiva and attendant deities show Early Chalukya sculpture in a darker, cooler chamber than the open temples. Carry a torch or use phone light for details, and watch your step on uneven floors. It is essential if you want both rock-cut and structural temples in one Aihole day.
