International Gita Mahotsav

The International Gita Mahotsav is a grand annual celebration held in Kurukshetra, Haryana, honouring the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita. The festival centres around the sacred Brahma Sarovar, where devotees gather for Gita recitations, spiritual discourses and mass “Gita Path” events. Cultural programmes, folk performances, devotional music and light-and-sound shows add a vibrant touch to the celebrations. A large crafts and handloom fair showcases traditional art, regional products and local cuisine. The event also includes spiritual seminars, yoga sessions and social-welfare activities. Held around Gita Jayanti in November–December, the Mahotsav attracts pilgrims, scholars and visitors from across India and abroad, making it one of the country’s most prominent spiritual-cultural festivals.
