Ganga Mahotsav is a cultural festival on the ghats of Varanasi, organised by Uttar Pradesh Tourism and the district administration in the days before Dev Deepawali. Leading classical musicians and dancers perform on stages by the river, with the Ganga as the backdrop.

The 2026 festival runs from 20 to 23 November, with the main stage at Rajghat and more programmes at Namo Ghat. Evenings bring Hindustani vocal and instrumental concerts, classical dance, and folk performances by artists from Varanasi and around India. Crafts and food stalls showcase local products.

Entry to the concerts is free. Plan to stay on for Dev Deepawali on 24 November, when lakhs of diyas light up the ghats, and book rooms and boats well in advance, as the city fills up for the whole week.
