1st Edition Ginger Festival, Karbi Anglong

The 1st Ginger Festival of Karbi Anglong, Assam, celebrates the district’s renowned GI-tagged Karbi Anglong Ginger, known for its strong aroma and superior quality.

Scheduled on 8th–9th January 2026 at Taralangso and the Arboretum-cum-Crafts Centre, Matipung, Diphu, the festival marks the region’s first dedicated event highlighting ginger cultivation.

The festival aims to promote local farmers, encourage value addition, boost agri-tourism, and showcase Karbi Anglong’s rich cultural heritage.

Key attractions include ginger exhibitions, agricultural workshops, ginger-based food stalls, local handicrafts, and traditional cultural performances. The event brings together agriculture, culture, and tourism while strengthening the local rural economy.
