Diwali In The Sky

As the festival of lights approaches, Emirates is turning its cabins and lounges into a flying celebration of Diwali, running from 17–24 October 2025 for flights between Dubai and nine Indian cities.
Routes: Passengers travelling between Dubai and Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Kochi, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Thiruvananthapuram, Kolkata and Mumbai can experience this.
Special Menus
- Motichoor Laddu: For passengers in Economy and Premium Economy.
- Kaju-Pista Rolls: For passengers in First and Business Class.
- Variety of delicacies will be served in the lounges (Dubai First & Business, and select international lounges such as Cape Town & Johannesburg) like onion kachoris, paneer potli samosas, desserts like balushahi, kesar rasgulla, gajar-ka-halwa.
- African Lounges serve gulab jamun, rice pudding and mango lassi for the Indian diaspora.
Entertainment
Up to 167 Indian films, including new Bollywood releases and regional cinema in nine languages (Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Marathi, Punjabi, Bhojpuri, Bengali, Gujarati).
40+ Indian music albums/playlists and 14 Indian TV programmes to keep the mood festive.
Why this matters
For travellers between India and Dubai (and beyond) this initiative offers sense of home and tradition into skies. Many Indian passengers may be away from their hometowns during Diwali; Emirates’ effort helps recreate the festival spirit mid-flight and in transit lounges. It’s good branding for the airline too: catering to cultural needs, enhancing the guest experience, and differentiating from other carriers.
